Health Insurance cost have become the 2nd largest expenditure for most employers with an average budgeted premium of $12,000 per employee per year.  To offset those increases, most employers have responded with a combination of strategies such as an increased deductible, smaller medical network of providers or shifting more of the premium to their employees.  Meanwhile, a biased insurance company is the only source of information provided to most HR Professionals and CFO's with no real strategic overview of how their overall benefit package compares to their peers.  This program will provide an unbiased overview of what other employers are providing their employees from a cost, benefit and contribution perspective.

You will learn information about Local, State and National trends in health insurance.   You will be shown trends based on employer size, industry, demographic profile and region.  You will be provided with tools you need to answer the CFO when asked "how does our health & benefit plans compare?"

Thom Mangan, Johnson Financial Group, will be presenting.  Thomas has been recognized as a leader in the insurance and employee industry.  He was named, by his peers, as one of the 10 most influential people nationally in the industry by Employee Benefit News.   Before joining Johnson Financial Group, Thom served as the CEO of United Benefit Advisors, the President of the New England Benefits Division of USI, and was the National Practice Leader/Chief Sales Officer of Employee Benefits of HUB International Limited.  Throughout his storied carrier, Thom has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Forbes, NBC News, NPR, SHRM, and numerous other business and insurance trade publications.  In 2013 Thom was awarded the Insurance Brokerage CEO Leadership Award by the Institute for Healthcare Consumerism.
